Scope/Content: Manuscript commonplace book composed and written by both Anne Ley and her husband Roger Ley, the curate of St. Leonard's Shoreditch from approximately 1623-1667. The volume contains extracts by Anne from Bishop Joseph Hall's Meditations, her poems and letters, her will, funeral sermon and epitaph, as well as sermons, treatises and eulogies by Roger Ley.

Condition: Bound in full brown leather; rebacked with paneled spine; gilt stamping on covers and spine; marbled endpapers.
