Description
Scope/Content: Manuscript. Transcriber statements by John Harper, Junior at the end of most sermons in volume. Tables of contents at the end of each numbered series of pages.
Scope/Content: Manuscript volume of copious notes written by John Harper, Junior, on sermons delivered in multiple churches in London during the period 1625-1665. It does not appear that Harper himself was a clergyman, but his often quite detailed notes record the particulars of at least 46 different sermons delivered in St. Margaret Moses church and in the cathedral church at St. Paul's by a number of different ministers, including Richard Culverwell, Stephen Marshall, Charles Burke and Benjamin Needler.
Condition: Bound in full dark brown calf. Hinges defective and back cover completely detached. Housed in modern tan cloth case.
