Department of Irrigation Photographs
The UC Davis Department of Irrigation Photographs contain images taken by the department from 1895-1959. Subjects include many topics related to California irrigation including dams, canals, reservoirs, pumps, wells, preparing land for irrigation, and field and laboratory experiments. Most of the images were taken in California, however there are also photographs from other locations in the western United States.

Eastman's Originals Collection
Photographs, negatives, and postcards for a wide variety of northern California locations and events, including dam construction, logging, mining, food processing, and community buildings and activities. Jervie Henry Eastman was born, July 20, 1880, in White Cloud, Michigan. His family moved to northern California in 1886. In 1898, Eastman launched his photographic career in Sisson, California (later named Mount Shasta), as a view photographer. He became a partner in the Shasta View Company in 1907. Goldstein (Joyce) Papers on California Cuisine
This digital collection includes transcriptions of interviews conducted by Joyce Goldstein for her 2013 book, Inside the California Food Revolution, authored with Dore Brown. The book explores the development of California cuisine from the 1970s to the 2000s. Goldstein is a chef, author, and consultant to the restaurant and food industries. She was chef/owner of Square One restaurant in San Francisco, California from 1984-1996 and worked for three years as executive chef at Cafe at Chez Panisse in Berkeley, California. Greene (Henry Dart) Papers
The Henry Dart Greene Papers contains photographs, motion picture films and a limited amount of personal and business papers. The photographs date from 1914 to the late 1960s, and are a mix of personal and professional subjects. Greene's years at the University of California, Berkeley and photographs of his wife Ruth Haight Greene's childhood in Sacramento are the earliest photographs in the collection. The collection includes photographs from Argentina, where Greene worked with the Argentine Fruit Distributors from 1928 to 1931 and from his public relations work with the American Fruit and Produce Auction Association (AFPAA) from 1933 to 1941. …

Higgins (Floyd Halleck) Photographs of Mexican Sugar Beet Workers
In 1942, Higgins took photographs of Mexican workers entering the United States "brought in for the [sugar] beet harvest" for California Fields Crops, Inc. and as Higgins explains in a letter that he tried "to catch a lot of the social side in pictures." The photographs were taken mainly in the agricultural areas of the California communities of Woodland, Pleasanton, Manteca, and Salinas.

Hunt (Thomas Forsyth) Papers
Thomas Forsyth Hunt (1862-1927) served as Professor of Agriculture at the University of California, Berkeley and Dean of the College of Agriculture (now the University of California, Davis). His Papers contain a comparative study of the agriculture of Caribbean countries and a collection of photographs depicting agricultural methods in Jamaica, Hawaii, Haiti, Cuba, El Salvador, Panama, and Costa Rica, circa 1924-1925.

Kearney Agricultural Research & Extension Center (KARE) Tea Trials Records
Located in Parlier, California, the UC Kearney Agricultural Research and Extension Center (KARE) is a research base for scientists from UC Riverside, UC Davis and UC Berkeley, and farm advisors from San Joaquin Valley UC Cooperative Extension. In the 1960s and 1970s, UC Agricultural Extension and Lipton Tea Co. conducted research at KARE to investigate the potential for commercial tea growing in California. This collection documents the progress and results of the research through correspondence, field notes, project proposals, progress reports, field data, and related reference material.
