Artists' books collection
UCI's collection of artists' books dates from the 1960s to the present (400 volumes to date, most of them published after 1990) encompassing nearly all aspects of the genre from "normal" published works to altered, sculptural, painted and unique books. The collection has three major foci: works by and about women; works that explore contemporary American politics; and works produced in Latin American countries.

Asian American Studies protest video (University of California, Irvine)
This collection consists of a video in 3 parts of a UCI student protest that occurred in April 1993 concerning the absence of an Asian American Studies Program. Over 200 students rallied outside the administration building (Aldrich Hall) and then marched inside. The video contains news coverage, footage of the rally, protest and march, and student interviews. These efforts led to the creation of the UCI Department of Asian American Studies within the School of Humanities.

This collection consists of a variety of audio recordings of events and activities at the University of California, Irvine from 1955 to 1991. This collection consists of 21 oral histories from the Beginnings of Activism for the Department of Asian American Studies (BADAAS) at University of California, Irvine project. BADAAS was a group created by the chair of the Department of Asian American Studies, Dr. Judy Wu, and Dr. Thuy Vo Dang, director of the Southeast Asian Archive for the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Department of Asian American Studies. They assembled a group of interns to research the history of the creation of Asian American Studies on campus and conducted oral histories with the professors, staff and faculty members, activists, and former students …

Blackburn (Iyanna) documentary, "The 2%: Navigating UCI as a Black Student"
Contains one documentary film entitled, "The 2%: Navigating UCI as a Black Student" (2020). The documentary was directed and produced by Iyanna Blackburn (class of 2022), a third-year double major in Film & Media Studies and African American Studies at the University of California, Irvine. The documentary focuses on the perspectives of Black students at UCI. Students share personal experiences of what it is like to navigate the UCI campus, given that the Black student demographic on campus is less than two percent. The documentary was produced while Blackburn was an intern at Anteater TV.

Bonner (Mitchell I.) Photographs and Ephemera
This collection comprises approximately 3,000 photographs and slides taken by Mitchell Bonner between 1975 and 2001, as well as printed ephemera collected by him through 2014. The images document Iu Mien, Lao, Khmer, Vietnamese, and Cambodian community social and cultural events throughout Northern California, primarily the San Francisco Bay area. The emphasis is on Laotian American communities. The ephemera includes programs, posters and flyers from cultural, religious, and popular culture events, refugee publications, pamphlets and brochures from refugee assistance agencies, and other materials related to social services, education, and refugees. Braunwald (Susan R.) Language Acquisition Diaries
This collection is comprised of diaries created by Susan R. Braunwald documenting her second child's acquisition of American English between late infancy (8-months) and early childhood (50-months). The diaries are redacted photocopied versions that are otherwise exact copies of the originals. The handwritten diaries contain information about an inclusive process of language acquisition that encompasses pragmatics, semantics, and syntax and is considered the "most complete diary in existence of one child's development of complex syntax." The daily entries from 12-to-48 months including detailed contextual and developmental notes make these data useful for research in child language and more broadly in …
