Modjeska (Helena) Collection
The artificial collection comprises primary and secondary source materials on Helena Modjeska, a nineteenth-century Polish stage actress who had a successful career in the United States. Most items pertain to her stage career, while others provide insight into Modjeska's life at her Santiago Canyon ranch, Arden, in Orange County, California. Primary sources include original and photocopied Modjeska correspondence, ephemera, programs and playbills, photographs, scrapbooks, and artifacts, including a hand-written book of fairy tales. Secondary sources include biographical information on Modjeska in newspaper clippings, manuscripts typescripts, and published journal articles written by a number of authors.

Nguyen (Duc) Video Footage for Bolinao 52
This collection includes raw video footage used in the creation of the Emmy-winning documentary, "Bolinao 52" (2008), by Duc Nguyen. Following the end of the Vietnam War in 1975, millions of refugees took the perilous voyage across the South China Sea to find freedom. Many drowned or died of thirst and starvation. Some were lost at sea for days while others were pillaged, robbed and raped by pirates. Filmmaker Duc Nguyen, himself a boat refugee, retraced the odyssey of the Bolinao 52 and revealed an incredible tale of survival, reconciliation and closure. "Bolinao 52" tells the story of the one …

Nineteenth-Century Images of Life Among the Asante and Other West Africans
Engravings of ordinary people and everyday objects from the Gulf of Guinea Coast during the nineteenth century. These include Fante, Ouidah, and Asante people, as well as a stool, cushion, various hats, a fetish place, and a Dutch plantation. There is also an eighteenth century map of the region.

O'Donnell (Patrick) University California, Irvine Photographs
Patrick O'Donnell was a photojournalist and photographer. He photographed US presidents, groundbreakings, and events at California universities and colleges. This collection contains digital photographs taken by O'Donnell of UCI's 1964 dedication ceremony with Lyndon B. Johnson speaking, and Hubert Humphrey visiting campus in 1976 as part of the Presidential Symposium.
