Correspondence, news clippings, manuscripts, and reports related primarily to the development and usage of the Klamath River Basin in the mid-20th century, created and compiled by consultant Frank L. Lathrop. Lathrop was born on April 3, 1882. He was a licensed real estate broker and a "specialist in fact finding." He resided in Yreka, California, and took interest in public lands and water-supply.

Diaries of Toranosuke "George" Fujimoto and his son George Fujimoto Jr., including the World War II period when their family was forcibly removed from their home in Riverside, California to an incarceration camp in Poston, Arizona. The diaries kept by Toranosuke between 1913-1968 are in Japanese. The diaries kept by George Jr. between 1942-1948 are in English.

This collection includes photographs and an unpublished diary written by H. L. Ripley while he traveled on horseback through Mexico in 1888-1889. A handwritten essay by Ripley from 1868 on the topic of manliness is also included.
