About this Collection

This collection consists of newspaper clippings, publications, and ephemera about Orange County, California's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities.The materials were collected by multiple individuals as part of the Orange County Historical Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) Timeline Project, an effort started by activist Barbara Muirhead in 1995. Activists Dick Hitt and Brad Brafford also contributed significantly to the Project. The Project highlights important people, organizations, and events related to the LGBT communities in Orange County. Among the topics covered in the collection are: Laguna Beach Pride, the 1993 March on Washington for Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Equal Rights and Liberation, various legislation, Gay Games IV, and veterans and the military.
