Notable scenes of devastation include buildings such as the Palace Hotel, the United States Mint, City Hall, the Grand Hotel, Temple Emanu-El, St. Patrick's Church, the Call Building, St. Mary's Hospital, The Hall of Justice, and St. Ignatius Church, as well as areas such as Russian Hill, Market Street, and Portsmouth Square.
