Selected material from the Edward (Eddie or E.) Leong Way papers. Way studied pharmaceutical chemistry and earned a PhD from the UCSF School of Pharmacy in 1942. Much of his career centered on the development of physical dependence and tolerance of opiates. His work has aided in creating a deeper understanding of the complexities of addiction. Way worked as a professor at UCSF for many years before retiring in 1987. Call number: MSS 2009-01.
