About this Collection
Sam Hinton (1917-2009) was a professional folksinger, aquarist, illustrator, and teacher of literature and folklore at UC San Diego. Selected materials from his papers have been digitized. Digitized items include photographs from the University of California Division of War Research, Hinton’s caricatures and sketches of Scripps Institution of Oceanography faculty, and many original drawings of ocean plants and animals created for Hinton’s newspaper column “The Ocean World.” View this collection on the contributor's website.View collection guide.
