Spanish Civil War Children's Drawings

About this Collection

A collection of over 600 drawings made during the Spanish Civil War by Spanish school children, both in Spain and in refugee centers in France, rendered in pencil, crayon, ink, and watercolor. The drawings were collected under the auspices of the Spanish Board of Education and the Carnegie Institute of Spain, and some of them were published for the American Friends Service Committee to raise funds for children's relief efforts in Spain. Images were digitized from originals held by the UC San Diego Library. View this collection on the contributor's website.
