Alphonse Louis Pinart Papers
Owning Institution: UC Berkeley, Bancroft Library
About this Collection
Alphonse Louis Pinart (1852-1911) was a French scholar with wide linguistic and ethnological interests who traveled extensively, collecting documents and information as he went. Most of his collections as of 1885 were acquired by H. H. Bancroft. This group consists of diaries, notebooks, correspondence and other personal papers. Material primarily of linguistic interest, or concerned with the history of particular areas, has been assigned separate call numbers, and readers should consult the manuscripts catalog and A Guide to the Manuscript Collections of the Bancroft Library, v. 1.
