The Views of California and Other Western States album contains 221 photographic prints taken from circa 1890 to 1901, the year of the album's compilation. Although the majority of the album's photographs are of California subjects, there are also several of Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming locales, as well as other western states, Canada, and New York. California points of interest include Yosemite Valley and Mariposa Grove, Marin County, Los Angeles, Pasadena, Mt. Lowe, Redlands, Riverside, Hotel Del Coronado, Santa Barbara and vicinity, Monterey and Hotel Del Monte, Santa Cruz and the Felton Big Trees, San Jose and the Lick Observatory of Mt.
