R. E. Wood Collection
The R. E. Wood Photograph Collection (MSS 174) was donated to Meriam Library, Special Collections in 1991 by Thomas L. Rodgers - Mary Elizabeth Olmstead Wade Wood's great-great grandson. The collection consists of over 400 collodion wet-plate glass negatives and albumen POP photographic prints - many of these images are stereographs - taken during the 1870s and 1880s. The prints were mounted in a "scrapbook" ledger book along with newspaper clippings, advertisements, and articles about and by R. E. Wood. Radiologic Imaging Laboratory (RIL) Records
Selected material from the records of the Radiologic Imaging Laboratory (RIL) of the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) from its initial funding by Pfizer, Inc. through its operation as a unit of Diasonics, Inc. and Toshiba America MRI (TAMI). Material relates to RIL's development and sale of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technology. The collection includes administrative and marketing records, photographs, and the professional papers and research notebooks of lab members. Call number: MSS 2002-08.

Railroads - Mt. Tamalpais & Muir Woods Railway
The Mt. Tamalpais and Muir Woods Railroad ran from 1896 until 1929 between downtown Mill Valley to near the summit of Mt. Tamalpais, with a second line descending the West side of Mt. Tamalpais to Muir Woods beginning in 1907. The photographs and ephemera in this collection include depictions of the Tavern on Mt. Tamalpais, gravity cars, and the Inn at Muir Woods.

Rainbow Bridge
The Rainbow Bridge-Monument Valley Expedition (1933-1938) includes many photographs and negatives from the over 600 sites that comprised what was the largest survey expedition to date in the Four Corners area of the American Southwest. Ralph Beals and George Brainerd, both lead archaeologists for the Expedition, became the first professors in a newly formed Department of Anthropology at UCLA, with Ralph Beals as head of the fledgling department. Photographs include the lab for the Expedition where work was carried out until 1945 in the top floor of the Powell Library.

Ralph Sweet Collection
Ralph W. Sweet was a professor of medical arts and illustration at the University of California Medical School in San Francisco. He trained at the School of Fine Arts at the University of Minnesota for a period of two years. He contributed in the field of medical art, illustrating many books, and medical articles. Ralston (W. C.) and His Mansion in Belmont, Ca., 1872-1874 - Photographs
The Photographs of W.C. Ralston and His Mansion in Belmont, Calif. collection contains eleven photographic albumen prints taken by Eadweard Muybridge in 1874. The prints, some of which are stereograph halves, are gathered on four mounts --two prints being individually mounted, the remaining nine divided among two larger mounts. The collection features exterior views of the estate's various buildings and grounds; interior views of the dining room, ballroom, balcony and foyer; and a photographic reproduction of a portrait print of William C. Ralston by an unidentified artist....

Rancho San Pedro Photograph Collections
The Rancho San Pedro, located in the South Bay region of Los Angeles County, was one of the original Spanish land grants. This collection illustrates the history of the Rancho, along with that of the Dominguez family and its heirs, who owned the entire Rancho from 1784 through the middle of the twentieth century, and who continue to manage some of the land to the present day.
