Wilderness Women
Wilderness Women was a monthly newsletter of outdoor and nature activities for women in the San Francisco Bay Area, published from 1981-2015. According to one of the original creators, the newsletter grew out of members’ previous involvement in lesbian birdwatching groups. The newsletter was first published as a San Francisco Bay Area chapter of Camping Women. The name was changed to Wilderness Women after the group decided to disassociate from the national Camping Women organization.
