Young Women's Christian Association Collection
The Young Women's Christian Association Collection consists of correspondence, event invitations and programs, meeting minutes, constitution and by-laws, and publications of the Young Women's Christian Association of Oakland collected by the East Bay Negro Historical Society. The collection is organized into two series: YWCA of Oakland and Assorted national YWCA publications. The bulk of the YWCA of Oakland series is administrative records of the Linden St. and Market St. branches of the YWCA of Oakland, the two black branches of the YWCA in Oakland, California. Your Story is the Peninsula's Story (YSPS) collection is part of an Institute of Museum and Library Services grant (#40-8615) awarded to the Palos Verdes Library District's Local History Center to help preserve and make accessible the unique history of the Palos Verdes Peninsula. The images, texts and stories included in this collection are contributions by community members - both long time residents and newcomers alike - at scanning events held at the Library and with community partners. Yuba County History: Visual Archive
Yuba County Library's photograph collection includes images of historical interest of Marysville and other areas of Yuba County from the early 1800s to the 1950's. Images document commercial, residential, and public buildings, including businesses and restaurants), the fire department, theaters and the public library; street scenes; neighborhoods; significant individuals, groups and family portraits; and annual events, such as parades.

YWCA of Silicon Valley Collection
The Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) originally formed in England in 1855. In the United States the YWCA combined evangelism and pragmatic activism to provide for the physical, social, mental, and spiritual needs of young women living on their own. The organization strove to provide "wholesome" activities for women and girls living in cities and to develop civic-minded female leadership. In addition to Christian guidance, local YWCA braches offered residences, cafeterias, job training, daycare, exercise, crafts, camping, dances, and other services.
