The collections in the University Archives reflect the rich religious and educational heritage of Mission Santa Clara de Asis, the eighth of California's twenty-one missions, and Santa Clara College, the first institution of higher education in California.

Pellerano Family Papers
The Pellerano Family Papers, 1879-1945 (bulk 1879-1894), document the lives of the Pellerano, Boitano, and Wempe families in the San Francisco Bay Area. The records consist of the personal papers of Nicholas, Clorinda, and Pedrina Pellerano along with memorabilia associated with several other family members. Nicholas Pellerano was an early vice-president of Bank of America and previously worked as a licensed pharmacist. He was also a student of the Santa Clara College Commercial Department from 1888-1891. His sister Pedrina assisted him in running his own pharmacy, Pellerano Pharmacy.

Reid Family Papers
The Reid Family Papers,1827-1961 (bulk 1846-1916), document the personal and professional lives of several members of the Reid family. This collection includes material related to Bernard J. Reid’s 1849 overland journey to California from Missouri, including his personal diary from the trip. The records consist of correspondence, business documents, poetry, journals, annotated books, photographs, newspaper clippings, and maps.

William C. (Chuck) Eymann (1917-1978), nationally known photographer, photojournalist and cinematographer, was the first professional photographer contracted by SCU to capture campus life and University events on film. Eymann was born in Atchison, Kansas in 1917. He attended University of Missouri, and later, in 1937, relocated to San Fransisco as a commerical photographer. During World War II, he was Vice President of Photo and Sound Productions of San Fransisco, doing commercial cinematography as well as making documentaries and training films for the Federal Government. Turrill-Miller Photograph Collection
The Turrill-Miller Photograph Collection consists of over 300 photographs documenting the historic buildings and campus life of Santa Clara College (now known as Santa Clara University), from 1905-1920. The images were taken by professional photographer Charles Beebe Turrill. Sometime around 1900 (the exact date is uncertain), Turrill partnered with Charles O. Miller to create the firm of Turrill &Miller Photographers. Based in San Francisco, the firm specialized in historical and industrial photography in the Bay Area.
