The Sonoma County Library, through its Sonoma Heritage Collections, seeks out, acquires and makes digitally accessible, materials in all formats to illuminate Sonoma County history and culture. The Sonoma Heritage Collection builds on the extensive collection of historical photographs gathered in the the Library's History & Genealogy Library, Petaluma History Room and Sonoma County Wine Library, as well as archival collections located in the Sonoma County Archives. We have collaborated with a number of Sonoma County organizations including the Sonoma Valley Historical Society, the Western Sonoma County Historical Society and the Sonoma County Fair to broaden our offerings. The Sonoma Heritage Collections includes a number of current and planned, unique collections ranging from historical photographs to Sonoma County wine labels, and from architectural drawings to winemaker oral histories.

Luther Burbank correspondence concerning the 'peanut parrot seed'
Typed correspondence from Burbank to an unidentified person. Includes two colored-pencil drawings: one depicting the operation of the machine Burbank describes in his letter, and another of a parrot wearing a jacket and cap. Also includes formal autograph by Burbank.

The Luther Burbank Home & Gardens Collection of photographs, postcards and greeting cards draws from the archives of a unique urban garden located at the corner of Santa Rosa and Sonoma Avenues in Santa Rosa, California. The home and gardens are a registered National, State & City Historic Landmark. They are owned by the City of Santa Rosa and operated by the Luther Burbank Home & Gardens Association. The Robert Feuer Collection of Music Writings, 2005-2018 (SPC.00045) consists of clippings of Robert Feuer's monthly music columns and other writings primarily reviewing concerts and album releases. Feuer is a Sonoma County-based music journalist whose writings have been published in a variety of Sonoma County newspapers, including the Russian River Monthly; the Russian River Times; the North Bay Bohemian; the Argus-Courier (Petaluma, Calif.); Oak Leaf (Santa Rosa Junior College); and the Sonoma County Gazette. Most items include photographs of musicians, bands, and others connected with Sonoma County's music scene.
