The Benicia Public Library contributes to the success of our diverse community by being a vital center of learning, communication, culture and enjoyment. We serve a community with a uniquely rich history and character. Benicia exudes small-town charm, with its ideal San Francisco Bay waterfront location and high quality of life. To meet the needs of our residents, the Library is responsive to providing services and making them available when people can use them. Our Library is open 7 days a week, and includes an art gallery, a Literacy Program, and a Friends of the Library group as well as diverse volunteer opportunities. In addition to our beautiful building, which opened June 19, 1993, we provide a wide range of materials as a result of the Library Board's consistent allocation of budget resources to developing and enhancing our print and electronic collections.

California Revealed from Benicia Public Library
California Revealed is a State Library initiative to help California’s public libraries, in partnership with other local heritage groups, digitize, preserve, and provide online access to archival materials - books, newspapers, photographs, audiovisual recordings, and more - that tell the incredible stories of the Golden State. We also provide free access and preservation services for existing digital collections for partner organizations with in-house digitization programs. California Revealed is supported by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered in California by the State Librarian.
