The California Automobile Museum (formerly the Towe Auto Museum) is a spacious 72,000 square foot Museum. It is home to over 150 vehicles of various makes and models. Cars on exhibit range from the early 1900s to alternative power vehicles of the future and are all uniquely displayed chronologically among exhibits befitting the times and changes of the automobile. A knowledgeable docent staff provides visitors with guided tours through exhibits that recreate the momentous love affair we have with automobiles. Exhibits also provide historical information about the automotive industry. The Museum offers a series of educational classes, both for adults as well as children, lectures, monthly Family Fun Programs, Swap Meets, movies, historical trips, rotating exhibits and other special events throughout the year as well as an extensive Docent Training Program.

California Revealed is a State Library initiative to help California’s public libraries, in partnership with other local heritage groups, digitize, preserve, and provide online access to archival materials - books, newspapers, photographs, audiovisual recordings, and more - that tell the incredible stories of the Golden State. We also provide free access and preservation services for existing digital collections for partner organizations with in-house digitization programs. California Revealed is supported by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered in California by the State Librarian.
