Photograph was edited for publication purposes; Original print is of inferior quality. Photograph article dated September 21, 1950 partially reads, "After locking horns in a tense one-hour hearing, R-1 and R-A supporters must await a decision from the Los Angeles City Planning Committee involving the future of 111 acres in Pacoima. On one side were 50 to 60 opponents of a proposed subdivision near Woodman Ave. and Osborne St. They object to the project because the R-A acreage will be reduced to 60 by 100 foot lots on which homes will be constructed. They say the lots are too small and will interfere with the happiness of property owners who own R-A properties." Photograph caption reads, "Valley women oppose R-1 zoning. Mrs. Fobert [sic] Maile, Mrs. Alida Fredenburg with placards."
