V1p183a In PHOTO ALBUM-VAULT: ** fc917.9461 A3, Vol. I, page 183 top. This photograph is contained in one of two volumes by Dobbin titled "Album of San Francisco." Text written under photo: "Twin Peaks Tunnell [sic] East Portal 1917." View looks west at the east portal of the Twin Peaks Tunnel, at Market and Collingwood. Lettered above the portal is "TWIN PEAKS TUNNEL A.D. 1917." Muni work car #C1 is seen emerging from the tunnel carrying a load of wheels as ballast. The north slope of Twin Peaks can be seen in the distance.
