Description
Chang-rae Lee discusses his book, “Aloft.” He begins by explaining that his book is about middle-aged people who suddenly find themselves unhappy with their lives. Martinson asks Lee to read a passage from the book about couples who fight after many years of marriage. He describes that his main character flies a plane as a hobby to escape from his boring reality. Lee talks about his career as a professor of creative writing at Princeton. He discusses how the book is slightly autobiographical and explores Chinese-American life. He ends the interview by talking about other books he has written and the possibility of one of them being made into a film.
