Beachgoers at Bayshore Camp sit under large, striped, beach umbrellas that are stuck in the sand close to the water's edge in this Newport Beach scene. A small pier leads to a pump at a MacMillan Gasoline station. Rowboats, outboard motorboats and small fishing boats share the water with bathers. In the background, cliffs follow the water's edge. Bayshore camp was located at the corner of Dover Drive and Pacific Coast Highway. In 1941, a flood did considerable damage to the campsite.
