Standing in front of McManus Hall are (left to right) Claremont University Center president Louis T. Bénézet; E. W. Hill, trust officer for the Palm Springs branch of Bank of America; and R. J. Taylor, vice president of the Palm Springs branch of Bank of America. President Bénézet received a $500,000 bequest from the estate of Mrs. Peral McCallum McManus of Palm Springs. The funds were used to meet the cost of building McManus Hall.
