Mange patienter kom fra Bhutan, hvorfor de ansøgte om og fik kongen af Bhutans tilladelse til at starte sundhedsarbejde inde i landet og bygge et hospital her. NELC, Assam, North India and Bhutan. Parkijuli Christian Hospital is placed close to the border of Bhutan. The hospital was founded by a Norwegian Missionary couple, BM Edel Busch Haugstad and Rev. Magnus Haugstad, and extended to 75 beds in the 1960ties. Many patients from Bhutan came to the hospital, so the missionaries requested and had permission from the King of Bhutan to start health work and build a hospital inside the country. The chosen place was Riserboo, and the foundation stone was placed in 1967. The photo shows this hospital with the following text: This is Riserboo – the hospital in front, on the far side of the road staff quarters and higher up the bungalow of the doctor family.
