The exterior of the First Church of Christ Scientist at 440 Elm Avenue in Long Beach. Built in 1913 in the Renaissance Revival style, the church has two-story tall columns at the entrance to the portico. A pilaster frames each column and a triangular pediment crowns the edifice. The avenue is unpaved. The church is Long Beach Historic Landmark no. 16.52.580 and the architect was Elmer Grey.
