Photograph caption dated December 27, 1962 reads "Rose Queen Nancy Davis looks over first entry in 1963 Pasadena New Year's Day parade with Robert E. Early, float chairman for the entry by Farmers Insurance Group American Legion Post 707. Theme of the float is 'Lindberg's Flight to Paris.' It will feature an exact replica of the plane 'Spirit of St. Louis.'"
