Description
Clarkson Dye was born in San Francisco and studied at the San Francisco School of Design. In 1936, Dye assisted Frank Van Sloun in painting the murals in the rotunda of San Francisco's Palace of Fine Art. Most of his paintings are of the San Francisco Bay Area, including many nocturnal street scenes. He was a member of the Bohemian Club. In 1941, he moved to Los Gatos.
