Here are John Jr. (or Jay) Kingsley and Pearl Macomber, who moved into Berkeley Square #14 around 1930. After leaving #14, originally owned by Walter R. Leeds, the Macombers moved to the Talmadge apartment building on Wilshire Boulevard. Pearl died in 1965 and J. Kingsley in 1970. The entire neighborhood of Berkeley Square was demolished to make way for the Santa Monica Freeway.
Photograph caption dated April 1, 1962 reads, "Looking back to the past are the J. Kingsley Macombers, last of the oldtime residents to move out of... [missing]."
