Description
Golden Phoenix is flying, Lincoln Heights, 1992. Quon Yick Noodle Company, exterior, 2730 North Main Street (at Sichel Street), Lincoln Heights. Chinese youth, led by the mythological phoenix, move toward a future of peace, happiness, and progress. In Chinese culture the phoenix brings good luck and prosperity. The artist used stylistic elements from China and pre-Columbian Mexico. Acrylic, 17' x 62', by Hui-Xiang Xiao, assisted by Jose Torres, Patricia McLaughlin Syou-Ding Chiou, Zhang Fang, Jian Wen Ma, Myron Chew.
