Description: "Faravohitra". Standing to the right: Karen Schaanning, a missionary in Madagascar from 1901-1940. She died in Antsirabe, Madagascar on June 22, 1940. On the picture she is wearing a mourning band, because her father in 1915, pastor Johan Christian Bruun Schaanning, died. The building was first build as a doctors home to the very first hospital building that was near by.
