Pastor of the Church of the Open Bible in Tujunga, the flying parson takes to wings as chaplain of Squadron 35 San Fernando, Civil Air Patrol, an auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force made up of volunteer civilian personnel. Whenever a call comes for search and rescue missions, he dons flying clothes, drives to Ryan Field in San Fernando and climbs aboard a plane for duty." Photograph caption reads, "Rev.
