Description
Gainsborough writes an amiable letter to David Garrick about a man named Henderson who bears a likeness to Garrick as a performer. Gainsborough possibly refers to John Henderson, a promising actor at the time. Gainsborough goes on to hint at Garrick's old age and imminent demise. He ends with a comment on an Exhibition in which he will not take part. Letter contains a hole, a watermark, wax seal, and a postage mark possibly for April 1st. Image four scan has been rotated 90 degrees to the right.
