Description
1989-1202. In: [Scenes of Sacramento] [manuscript] / Eugene Walter Hepting. [Sacramento, Calif. : E. Hepting, 1938?], Vol. C, leaf 7. View of a corner with a three story building on the corner and another three story next to it on the right; building on corner on its left side around the corner has a sign for Langendorf Bread at the top and below on the first storey is the "Shamrock Cafe Tom O'Sullivan"; crossing the street at the left is a large dog and around the corner a man crosses the street from another direction; the three story building on the right has a sign "Sacramento Trading Company" on the building between the first and second floor; the first floor has six rectangular windows on first floor and seven arched windows on the second floor; the roof line of the right building stands a half floor above the building on the corner. Walter Hepting was born in Sacramento (father was from Switzerland, mother from Germany). Worked for the State Treasurer's Office. Was amateur historian, collected old photographs and images of Sacramento. "Basement of corner bldg, former site of 'Lombard Flour Mill,' erected in 1853, grain elevator still in basement."
