Description
Can label for Del Monte Yellow Elberta Freestone Peach Halves. This label includes ingredients and nutritional information, a requirement of the Food and Drug Administration beginning in the 1970s. The Del Monte Shield changed little from its creation in the 1910s. Del Monte Corporation started as the California Packing Company [Calpak], which was founded in 1916 from the merger of five large canning and packing enterprises. The California Packing Company always marketed the Del Monte brand as its premium brand. In 1967, Calpak took Del Monte as its corporate name.
