Description
Photograph of Main Street in Alhambra looking west, Los Angeles, 1903. One-story brick commercial buildings front the street to the left, while taller, more elaborate Victorian-style buildings fill the right side. The street is unpaved and shows streetcar rails embedded in it. A man attends a carriage hitched to a horse near a telephone pole at the left. Signs on the buildings include: "Real Estate / Northrop and Peck / City Hall Block", and "Ives & Warren / Undertakers". A building with a tall, open tower topped by a spire stands at the right. A web of streetcar cables is suspended over the street by utility poles.
