Description
Portable radio with leather handle on top, covered in waxed canvas fabric. Speaker is on left of front, with art-deco style face on the right and two bakelite dials. The back unscrews to reveal vacuum tubes inside and battery connectors. Labels inside the case: 1) Instructions for tubes "To maintain original performance always specify genuine PHILCO TUBES." 39-6339 2) "PHILCO 40-81 Battery Operated Code 121, 39-6340" Base of the tube chassis bears label listing patent numbers, Part No. 39-5955. Four tubes inside: Westinghouse 7RO4, (2) TUNG-SOL 322KD3, and one with illegible markings.
