Photograph was edited for publication purposes. The Philharmonic Auditorium was located on Olive Street in Downtown Los Angeles. It was built by Temple Baptist Church which held services on Sundays. It was also used for Broadway shows produced by the Los Angeles Civic Light Opera for 27 seasons. After the LACLO and the L.A. Philharmonic moved to the Music Center in 1964, the building was again known as Temple Baptist Church. It was demolished in 1985.; Harold Ramser was born in Ashton, South Dakota on February 3, 1908. He was a prominent businessman involved in Republican politics in California. He died on May 15, 1989. In 1989, the Yankee Valor Handicap was renamed The Harold C. Ramser Sr. Handicap in his honor. The event is an American thoroughbred horse race run annually in October during the Oak Tree Racing Association at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California. Mrs. Ramser was president of the Assistance League of Southern California. Photograph caption dated September 27, 1960 reads "Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ramser are shown arriving at Civic Light Opera."
