Description
Photograph of the Memorial Arch at Stanford University following the 1906 earthquake, Palo Alto, 1906. A trimmed, grass yard lies in the foreground with a fenced, stone platform just behind it. The platform is covered in crumbled stone that has spilled down from the damaged arch at center as well as the collapsed arcades on either side. The sculptures that were once on the top of the arch have fallen along with the entire top, left corner. The buildings on either side of the arch appear to be intact.
