Description
“This is a snap of “Padre Paulos”, - Father Paulos Albertone, in charge of part of the R.C. Schools in the Mkasu area. His activities have caused us a lot of bother, but he himself is very friendly. He is anxious to leave his present district on account of his health, which has been very bad for a considerable time.” Exterior portrait of a Catholic minister wearing robes and a pith helmet, and sporting a large beard. The image was taken in Tanzania after the First World War, when missionaries from Livingstonia moved to support the mission fields that had been left, to fend for themselves, after the deportation of German Missionaries. ❧ This image belongs to an album of photographs collected by Dr. Stevenson and includes images from India, China and Africa
