Description
George Plimpton discusses his biography of Edie Sedgwick entitled, “Edie.” He begins by explaining that he grew up knowing the Sedgwick family. He talks about the mental disorders her family suffered from, and her eventual suicide at age 28. He describes her move to New York and how she fell into company with Andy Warhol. Plimpton talks about how he offered Warhol $500 for his collection of art films. He discusses how he started the Paris Review literary magazine that includes interviews and short stories from famous authors. He ends the interview by describing how he talked with members of Warhol’s Factory to get information about Sedgwick’s early life.
