Down on flat north of sawmill--2150 Green Hill Road known as Ronte(?) at time of this snap shot. Robert Wade Sturgeon--early 1940's. When Ejnar and I bought sawmill from Donati, Gonnella & Sturgeon, we set up a pole & brow log & loaded 1924 Dorris truck from stockpile here. Five wraps on spool would pick up quite a load with out slipping, 7 wraps was about limit for wraps. The trick was to twist line for wraps needed. Ejnar ran donkey & tended spool as I loaded, straight line & bucket (11/16" roebling line. Got good at chocking center. R.S. S"
