Photograph caption dated March 2, 1964 reads, "Mrs. George Van Syckel, left, district director of public welfare, presents the Helen B. Guhl Memorial Safety plaque to Mrs. Roy Slater, 31st District PTA president. The late Mrs. Guhl served as district safety chairman for eight years. The executive board established the memorial safety award which includes a set of safety keys which will be awarded annually to persons for outstanding service in the area of safety. Their names will be engraved on a plaque which will be permanently displayed in the district office."
