Photograph caption dated August 24, 1957 reads, "Toddler rescued from cistern - Fireman Walter Caumpacher carries Richard Bray, 2, of Tujunga, in his arms as he enters Sun Valley Hospital. Fireman pulled youngsters out of seven-foot cistern in Sunland Park. Young Bray wasn't hurt, but was scared when ground suddenly gave way as he played. Boy's grandfather notified police who summoned rescue crews."
