Description
Eight Hollywood writers and directors were convicted of contempt, because they refused to tell House Un-American Activities Committee whether they were Communists. They are shown with wives of three of the men. Front, left to right: Edward Dmytryk; Mrs. Sadie Ornitz; Mrs. Albert Maltz; Mrs. Lester Cole; and Herbert Biberman.
