Description
Firefighters pose in front of fire engines housed in circus tent used as temporary Station no. 1 following 1933 earthquake. Main station, located at 210 West 3rd Street, suffered major damage in earthquake, and was torn down shortly thereafter. Tent was borrowed from Barnum Circus, and was used until station was rebuilt in 1935.
