Description
“A Seth’s House, Jhunjhanu [Jhunjhunu].” External view of large house with crowd in front. The house is covered with detailed mural paintings. Seth’s were merchants who travelled all over India to make their fortunes. They often built large houses or monuments with their fortune. The Shekhawati region, of which Jhunjhunu is a part, is known for its numerous highly detailed frescos which adorn the walls of temples and mansions. ❧ United Free Church of Scotland photographs from the Rajputana mission.
