Description
Contains moving images taken during a railfan excursion tour of the Southern Pacific Sparks, Nevada roundhouse and shops in 1952. Includes shots of downtown Reno, Nevada, including Club Cal-Neva, Ramona's Kitchen, Roaring Camp, and several vintage automobiles. There is a close-up shot of a Southern Pacific wigwag crossing signal, and people waiting for a passenger train at the Reno depot. Passenger train #1-27, first section of the San Francisco Overland Limited, arrives in Reno pulled by Locomotive No. 4221, an AC-10 class Cab Forward. Followed is the #2-27, the second section of the Overland, pulled by an unidentified Cab Forward. Includes shots taken from the train as it departs Reno, catching scenes of the Palace Club, Wine House, and Rolo Casino. Additional shots are taken from the train along the Truckee, the Truckee depot, and Donner Lake.
