Description
Photograph of a painting by Henri Penelon of a portrait of Don Jose Sepulveda, owner of Rancho San Juaquin, on his famous horse, Black Swan, [s.d.]. They are facing left, while Sepulveda's head is turned to face straight ahead. Sepulveda holds his left hand on his hip and wears pants, a short jacket, a bowtie, and a hat. The saddle is quite ornate and bears a scabbard holding a sword. The painting is/was in the Bowers Museum.
